Window Card

I was inspired by Cambria Turnbow to try a little acetate window on a card.
Here is my first attempt:
Photobucket
Materials:Stamp Set:Simply Said; Cardstock:Pretty in Pink,Petals & Paisley DSP; Ink:Stazon; Accessories:White Gel Pen,Acetate,White & Pink Grosgrain Ribbon
I am not very happy with how this one turned out- the colours just don't seem right, so I had another go. I think this one is much better:
Photobucket
The words around the heart are stamped with Staz-on on acetate and laid over the DSP heart. The window is popped up on dimensionals so it has quite a cool 3-D effect.
Materials:Stamp Set:Simply Said; Cardstock:Chocolate Chip,Very Vanilla,Pink Passion, Au Chocolate DSP; Ink:Stazon, Chocolate Chip; Accessories:Choc Chip & Vanilla Grosgrain Ribbon,Acetate

Red And Black - Posted for Trace.
I don't know why but when I upload pics on here they are never as clear as the original. Anyhow Trace and I were talking on the phone on Sat night and she said she had stepped out of her comfort zone and done a red and black card.....now for the freaky bizzare part, so had I. So this is my effort, although very badly uploaded.

This post is from Sharlene Torres' Blog - Stamp With Sharlene

She's our feature blogger this week because of her awesome designs, use of techniques and because she updates her blog soo frequently I can't keep up!

PS: Sharlene was a demo in the USA and was one of the first to sign up here in NZ

GLITTER EVERYWHERE!

I have just received my monthly demonstrator newsletter from Stampin' Up! (yes, another benefits of being a demonstrator - free ideas!!). Anyway, they had this great idea that I just had to try ...

This is a great technique that will really take your images up a notch. While this card looks okay in the photo, it's much more sparkly in real life, so give it a go!!

IMG_4704 copy

You can create your own glitter in any of the Stampin' Up! colours very easily. This is how it goes:

1. Put one drop of classic re-inker into the bottom of a empty container (I used an empty eyelet container).

2. Add in a couple of drops of water.

3. Add about half a teaspoon of Dazzling Diamonds Glitter and mix. Continue adding more glitter until it has absorbed all the dye and has becoming "fluffy" in texture and is sparkly.

Stamps: Bodacious Bouquet, Stem Silhouettes, French Script (background)

Inks: Versamark, Regal Rose, Chocolate Chip

Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose, Very Vanilla

Accessories: Dazzling Diamonds glitter, Heat & Stick Powder (to stick glitter to image in Versamark), the FABULOUS new chocolate 5/8" grosgrain ribbon!, Stamp-a-ma-jig (for lining up text stamp which I stamped in 2 parts instead of one line)
